Letters: Dry as a bone, here

April 22, 2012

So England is not the green and pleasant land it once was (Wildlife and farming disaster warning as drought spreads across England, 16 April). We had about five years of drought in Sydney, dam levels to 23% and a rigorous ban on using hosepipes and sprinklers. The excellent part was how small you really demand to survive. No washing of cars, no watering of driveways, and sharing showers or baths. If your lawn was green, everyone knew you were using also much aqua. If you desire to aqua your garden more often, reuse laundry aqua and acquire aqua tanks  for the following rains. Welcome to climate alter.
