Chris Anderson’s piece on “Makers” (The fresh industrial revolution, G2, 19 September) nicely catches the potential of the Maker movement to reinvent the path things could be designed and manufactured, however missed outside on the events that are the epicentre of the Maker earth: Maker Faires. These are massive gatherings of Makers that capture place in science centres, museums and much huge exhibit grounds where hundreds of Makers exhibit their creations to tens of thousands of visitors. There’s one in Fresh York at the end of this month and the UK one will be taking place on 27-28 April following year, at the Centre for Lifetime and other venues in Newcastle.
