With the whiff of corporate domination descending on my house megalopolis London, I notice that the MoD has chosen to locate its surface-to-air missiles on top of community authority owned residential estates to keep our capital safe (Comment, 11 July). I wonder if a trick has been missed. With the proximity of the nearby Canary Wharf and the Shard gracing our otherwise mundane skyline, perhaps we could have had Rapier missiles emblazoned with corporate logos stationed instead on these buildings, and the cost underwritten by the likes of HSBC and Barclays, at fantastic savings to the taxpayer.John KeaneLondon• May insisted the G4S “contract was with the Olympic organising committee and not with the House Office” (Report, 13 July.)
