Metric’s New Single, ‘Youth Without Youth,’ Off Their Upcoming Album (AUDIO)

Metric recently released “Youth Without Youth,” their first track since 2009. In a commentary track about the song, frontwoman Emily Haines and guitarist James Shaw categorize it as 70s sleaze, ultimately a genre used to “disguise any kind of political statement — or morose sadness.” “We wanted to express some sort of rage or resentment,” Shaw said. “And sort of the feeling of being pissed of since you don’t get to familiarity the youth that maybe you were entitled to.”"You Without Youth” will appear on their upcoming album Synthetica, due outside June 12.
