Didier became known as “Turtle Boy” (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on National Geographic) since of an 11-pound mole he had grown encircling his torso. The mole very closely resembled the shell of a turtle. And as it required regular maintenance, the 6-year ancient Colombian boy had never been to college and was missing outside on much of his childhood.Doctors diagnosed him as having congenital melanocytic nevus, a rare mole condition. Luckily, their concerns that the mole might be malignant were laid to rest. Much bigger for the young boy, doctors determined they would be able to remove the mole.Months later, the cameras were on palm as Didier got his first gaze at his fresh body. He was understandably speechless at his normally shaped torso.
